Truth and Reconcilliation in Banff: Buffalo Mountain not Tunnel Mountain

Hi my name is Tara Beaver from Mini Thnii (Cold Water), apart of the Iyarhe Nakoda Nation in Alberta.
My interest in making the film for Truth and Reconciliation and the Buffalo comes from the root of who we are as indigenous people. The Buffalo is a matriarch herd and that's how we indigenous people used to live. It's such a blessing for the Buffalo to be back on the mountains once again. The purpose of this video is to start conversations and what the Buffalo really means. Most people don't realize the buffalo herd is a matriarchal society. As we walk into our healing as indigenous people the Buffalo are doing the same for the land.
